AnyDayRun collects and processes only the personal data necessary to operate our monthly virtual events, ensure athlete safety, maintain fair leaderboards, and celebrate your milestones.
1. Data We Collect & Why We Collect It
Account Details: Name, email address, gender, date of birth, city, and personal phone number.
- Age & Gender: Used strictly to calculate your official World Masters Athletics (WMA) Age-Graded Percentage score. Your exact date of birth is kept strictly private and is never shown publicly.
- Email & Phone: Used for race registration confirmations, critical event notices, and verification alerts. We do not sell, rent, or lease your contact information to external advertisers or marketers.
Safety & Emergency Details: Blood group, emergency contact name, and emergency phone number.
- Purpose: Retained strictly for medical preparedness, critical safety response, and event coordination.
- Third-Party Consent: By providing emergency contact information, you confirm that you have informed that person and obtained their explicit consent to share their name and phone number with AnyDayRun for emergency use.
Strava Activity Data & Permissions: When connecting your Strava account, AnyDayRun requests permissions to read your activity data (read, activity:read_all) and, if opted in, write permissions (activity:write).
- Read Access: Used strictly to ingest and verify qualifying activities during registered challenge windows (distance, moving time, elapsed time, elevation, cadence, and polyline).
- Optional Activity Renaming (Write Access): We offer an optional feature that updates your qualifying Strava activity title with an inspiring or thoughtful quote upon completion. This feature is strictly optional — you can enable or disable it at any time in your dashboard. When enabled, AnyDayRun sets the activity title to your quote and the activity description to a fixed, AnyDayRun-configured promotional line (replacing any existing description on that activity); we will never alter your GPS route data, splits, or delete any activity.
2. Public vs. Private Data Visibility
What is Publicly Visible:
- Your display name and profile avatar.
- City and country.
- Qualifying activity stats (official elapsed time, average pace, distance, elevation gain).
- Calculated WMA age-graded performance score.
- Past challenge finisher badges, public athlete profile (
/profile/<bib>), and side-by-side comparison pages. - Automated 1:1 and 9:16 social finisher and referral preview cards.
What Remains Strictly Confidential & Private:
- Email address and personal phone number.
- Blood group and emergency contact details.
- Exact date of birth (only your derived age category or age-graded score is shown).
- Full postal/shipping address (if collected for physical merchandise).
- Non-event Strava workouts and activities outside challenge criteria.
- Strava privacy perimeter zones (hidden start and end locations are preserved).
4. Disconnecting Strava & Right to Be Forgotten (Data Deletion)
- Disconnecting Strava: You can revoke AnyDayRun's access to your Strava profile at any time directly through your Strava Application Settings or via your AnyDayRun user dashboard. Disconnecting stops future activity polling and title updates while leaving verified past challenge results intact.
- Complete Account & Data Erasure: If you want all your personal data, emergency details, activity history, and historical leaderboard records permanently erased, email support@anydayrun.in from your registered email address. We will permanently delete your account and associated database records within 30 days.
For challenge rules, dispute policies, and participant terms, see our Terms of Service.
3. Social Sharing & Media Generation
AnyDayRun enables runners to generate automated social media finisher badges and referral cards for platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram. By participating, you grant AnyDayRun permission to display your race statistics, display name, and avatar on these public preview assets.
